Indian origin, born and raised in the Middle Eastern city of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, I moved out of the country at the age of 17 to pursue my career as an Ocean Scientist.

I have always been passionate about the ocean, I knew since the time I graduated high-school that this is what I wanted to indulge in - the fascinating mysteries of the ocean and my unrelenting curiosity led me towards pursuing a degree in Ocean Science.

I started my journey at the University of Plymouth in the United Kingdom, where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Ocean Science and Marine Conservation. I spent three years honing my skills and knowledge of the various processes that take place in the marine environment and the legal framework in place that promotes its conservation.

 

I entered the world of environmental science with an ecocentric vision of leaving it untouched and protected from human activity. The degree helped broaden my perspective on the inevitable growth of our world’s economy and helped direct my choice in pursuing a Master of Science degree in Environmental Consultancy.

 

Today I understand the importance and urgency of sustainable development. Managing natural resources and monitoring their consumption must maintain a balance to develop a more integrated approach that considers social, economic, and environmental factors.
